insert witty title here

Well yesterday didn't actually start till about 11am. Yes, a late start I know, made even stranger by the fact that I was actually up at 6.20am...

It started at 11 because of the special secret sneaky-sneaky package Miss C sent me. I thought that was special enough but when she came round last night she had ANOTHER little Chinese takeaway box surprise. I opened it to find a wicked titanium ring! And that in itself would have been enough but the damn thing fit like a glove, or ring, as it were.

Apparently I tried on a ring in Christchurch and it fit (I don't remember!) and Miss C then put it on her thumb to see how big it was and THATS how she gauged what size she should get!
Sneaky-sneaky!

So at about 6.30 my day had just gone from strength to strength and I thought it was pretty damn good.
Buuuuut, we still had the surprise dinner that she had organized!

We started driving and it ended up looking like we were going to my work, but no, not quite, we pulled up outside POD.
I've not actually been into POD before, not even for a lunch so I was looking forward to experiencing a dining experience outside our usual group of restaurants.
To start off with the atmosphere was great, it was warm, stylish and there were copious tea candles dotted around the restaurant for lighting, very nice, semi-intimate affair.

We started out with the bread and dips as a starter.
The bread was home made, light, fluffy, slightly sweet, and an almost creamy texture. The dips were a sweet capsicum with a hint of chili and a light green dip which could have been a very light blue cheese dip or something completely different. It was rather non descript but did have chives in it. They were very nice and set the tone for the rest of the meal.
Miss C then had the Veal on potato mash with some kind of lovely reduced sticky sauce which was very nice.
I had the eye fillet steak on a kumara cake and silverbeat and it was great too.
The servings were generous but they weren't stupidly massive like places like Lone Star where most normal people don't have a hope in hell of finishing their meals.
We left having had an enjoyable meal. We drove back to my place and just 'hung out'. It was nice to have a meal out and then just a quiet evening. It was probably the last night out for a little while as Miss C recoups over the next couple of weeks so it was really nice that the evening went so well.

So that was my wonderful evening last night!

So today it's rather wet and windy outside, not the nicest of days. I'm at work, waiting for my sweetness to get in, trying to finish off this blog before she gets in :D

Hopefully this evening I'll be able to pay a little call on Ben and pick up my 'drove full of goodies' hehehe goooooodies.

And with that I finish my blog post and my drinking yoghurt.
