Pancakes with Strawberries and cream mmmmmm
Well it's Tuesday, first day back to week after Labour Weekend and what a weekend it was.
Started the weekend off by heading up to the farm straight after work for dinner with the olds. It was nice n warm with the fire. We had fish and salad n potatoes. It was really nice with lashings of tomato sauce ;)
For desert we had some lovely afghans that the girl made and everyone loved them. Not surprising really. We watched 'A small Samoan wedding' which had some great bits.
We had a lovely evening and woke to an even better day on Friday. We liesurly made your way up the coast and stopped in at the outlet stores in Otaki. When leaving Otaki we both came away with some rather nice underwear, a new wallet each, and I had an extra couple of really nice shirts. Retail therapy and a road trip is a great way to start off a long weekend.
When we arrived at Waitareri beach I started to recognize lots of places. Miss C's family batch was really nice. It's having work done on it at the mo but it's a great size, plenty big enough for a whole family. It was very cozy with just her and me.
We drove around a little, looking for what used to be my family's old section but couldn't. I plan to look it up on google earth today and see if I cant spot it from the air.
We walked along the beach which was nice, weaving in between the tide marks and the blue bottle graveyards.
On Sunday we drove out to Palmy and I was shown her parent's place and her mum's church. Nice place, they even had a kiwi.
We then went to a really nice cafe for lunch. Miss C had a BLT and I had Nachos. We both had milkshakes too and they were brilliant! nice n thick and very tasty. The nacho's were great too. Another great meal with Miss C, I'm starting to think maybe it's the company that makes the food so good, it always seems to be good when I'm with her, much like everything else.
We did a bit of browsing in Palmy, me for books n such, Miss C for $50K diamond rings and books, not surprisingly she only came away with a book ;)
The rest of the weekend is a bit of a blur of eating naughty food n drink, topped off with long sessions of lying with my sweetness watching movies and generally just enjoying a weekend where neither of us had to do anything or be anywhere. Waitareri beach is the perfect place for that kind of get away too.
Highlights of the trip:
Getting Miss C a REALLY nice skirt as well as some nice white shirts (she looks really good in the skirt)
Seeing the family home n church
Spending an entire long weekend with Miss C all to myself
Talking with Miss C for hours
No really bad traffic anywhere
Low points of the trip:
Having ignorant Maori's spitting at the car when we drove along and forced an idiot and his family to 'get off the road and back on to the foot path' (stupid bloody ignorant inbred mother fuzer.....stupid ingra....)
A head on accident (don't think it was fatal but bad enough) at the Waitareri/SH1 intersection
Having to come back home to reality again
Having to let Miss C leave me when I did get home. (although she did come round again afterwards to get away from it all, but I still had to let her go again after that too)
I think that about covers it. Anything else that pops into my head will get added over the course of the day. I don't expect to be rushed off my feet so there's plenty of time for that.
