Smoke and mirrors
I have a vivid imagination. My subconscious can do all sorts of weird and wonderful things with that imagination as well. Most of the dreams I remember are very vivid and if not crazy then at least strange.
I had a dream last night that was so vivid that when I awoke to find it was never actually real, well, it put me in a funk.
The dream.
I could go into long boring detail on it but just the gist should suffice. I dreamt that I won a competition and the prize was an all inclusive round the world trip, all expenses paid kinda deal. You know, once in a lifetime thing. It was brilliant, I got the phone call and was flabbergasted, exhilarated and SO excited. That's about all I can remember from it now in the waking hours but believe me, that was enough.
When I woke up to the harsh light of reality it was a bit of a kick in the guts.
I think I half woke up at some point this morning and because I didn't quite wake up properly, I BELIEVED that I had won. I think that's what's made it quite so crappy.
So yea, I woke up to the disappointment of not having won my trip.
Then on the way into work on the bus, some stupid old lady randomly starts shoving me (well before we're even near a bus stop LET ALONE come to a stop) and when I tell her that if she'd only looked behind her she would have seen there was a door RIGHT behind her without several people standing in front of it (as was the case on her trek to the FRONT door) she got all shity.
I ended up just letting the stupid cow make her way to the front of the bus, disturbing everyone in her path, sound in the knowledge that at some point she would probably be snuck up on in a field, while sleeping, and be pushed over (as most cows do at some time in their life). Cow tipping, it's a fact of life for stupid cows.
Then when I get into work I'm accosted after only just starting a conversation with my sweetness.
Not the best start to the morning.
I can however say that I have started to perk up, mainly after reading my girls blog :) It was really nice :)
So, onto the events of yesterday
Work was fairly uneventful so I'll negate that, no one really wants to hear about what I do at work, not even me!
At lunchtime I walked down Lambton and met up with my sweetness to go buy cookie cutters (of all things!). We went to the Kirks Christmas store and Miss C purchased her ornaments (as is a Christmas tradition of hers :)
After that we checked out Country Road to see if there was anything worth using a 30% off voucher on, turns out there could be but I find myself constantly asking the question "but do I need it" and it was a case of, well, not really.
We went into Farrys to check out their suit sale and there was a really nice pinstripe suit that I tried on, very sharp, but again it was a $700 suit that I don't REALLY need at the moment (even if it was really really nice)
We parted ways but it left me happy having seen my girl in the middle of the day. It really brightens up a mundane hump day I tells ya.
After work we had the first salsa practice for the Cuba St Carnival. It was interesting to say the least. I started getting the hang of the moves but when we started doing it all from memory I started butchering it up at the end. I think I need some more practice before I'm ready to do it in a carnival. My sweetness seems pretty happy to practice with me so that's all good. She even said she has the music, bonus :D
So tonight my sweetness and I are going to surprise Miss V with a cake 'n flowers, sounds like a nice idea to me :)
Plus I've been invited to her BDay party on Sunday so I can accompany my sweetness :D
Perking up already.
Right, back to work people, nothing to see here
Move along.
